posted June 08, 2002 02:41 AM I am a client of A Russian Romance and recently returned from a successful trip to Sochi (my first trip to Russia).I have had nothing but positive experiences with this agency. Never at any time did I feel I was being cheated in any way.The staff in Sochi were extremely helpful, professional, and I found them to have a high level of integrity. The quality of the women was also very high; I felt the agency did a good job of pre-screening them. And most importantly, on my trip I met the woman of my dreams, who is now my fiancee. :-) I am now in the process of completing the K-1 paperwork to bring her here to California.I will soon file a trip report but for now let me just say that the trip was very successful.I'm very pleased with A Russian Romance and I certainly would recommend them to anyone who is serious about finding a Russian wife. This is the start of my report for my recent trip to Sochi and my experiences with A Russian Romance (ARR) for the benefit of all those trying to make a good decision about where to go in Russia to find a good wife and the best way to accomplish it. I would first like to say that I recently returned from my very successful and wonderful trip to Sochi. I was in Sochi from May 5th to the 16th of 2002 and it is wonderful places to take a holiday not mention find a wonderful Russia wife. I am now engaged to the most wonderful Russian lady!This was my second trip to the FSU. I previously went to the Ukraine in the year 2000 and met a very nice woman there in Sevastopol (also by the Black Sea) but the chemistry wasn't quite right for us but I still do not regret going as it was a wonderful experience and gave me nothing but confidence that I would eventually find my future wife in the FSU and made my second trip this year all the more easy. Probably my experiences in Sevastopol (I was also in Yalta for day) had some influence in choosing Sochi as a place I wanted to go as I know it is an excellent resort area (much like the Crimea in the Ukraine) and also I work with a guy who is from Bulgaria and he was in Sochi about 10 years ago and said it was a very beautiful region and that I would like it very much there. Anyway back to my trip to Sochi. First of all I will say up front that I made my trip to Sochi with the help of the agency A Russian Romance. I know there has been some negative posts made with regard to this agency in recent days (note from A Russian Romance - he is referring to a paid attack by a fraudulent agency that we exposed. We created the Scammer's list just to expose them and now the website has ceased business - something about cockroaches not liking the light I guess) but I feel that I have had nothing but a positive experience throughout all my dealings with this agency and I want to record the experiences of my trip and with this agency for the benefit of those who really are trying to make the best the decision they can about how to go about finding a Russian or Ukrainian wife (by the way I love the Ukraine too and had a excellent experience with the EDEN agency I dealt with in 2000 when I went to the Ukraine). I do not feel that I have been scammed or milked for money in anyway by ARR. I knew what all my costs would be upfront and there were no surprises in prices when I went to Sochi. Yes there is a $2080.00 fee to join this agency but I think it helps keep me serious about what I am doing and also helps the agency in finding the women I am going to see thereby making the money I spending taking the trip to Russia all the more useful. I had the choice whether to join with this agency or not and was not pressured in anyway to do so. I knew what I would have to pay for and how much it would be. I got a receipt for everything (by the way it is good to keep these receipts as well as your plane ticket receipts, restaurant receipts etc. because you will need them to send to Canadian Immigration as proof of your relationship for the fiancée visa). Inna, the owner of this agency even gave me an excellent deal on a really nice apartment that was in a good area and about a half hour walk by the river Sochi to the centre of the city (and I had excellent weather in May for many walks through Sochi). I guess I should start from the beginning of my experiences with ARR and the women of Sochi. I joined with A Russian Romance (ARR) in January and began my communication with the ladies I chose from their site. I was able to choose 10 women to begin my communications with but I quickly narrowed this down to two women I felt were most compatible with my "specifications" for wife. Also the agency ARR allows the women who are their members to choose men whom they want to initiate a communication with as you send your introductory letter and photos to ARR so the ladies can really see who you are and a little more about you before deciding if the want to reply to your overtures or initiate a communication with you themselves (I think this is only fair). So I had one additional lady who initiated a communication with me by her own choice.So I wrote to these three ladies for about three months and then decided it was crunch time and made the decision to go to Sochi for the beginning of May as this is a good holiday time in Russian (Easter and Victory Day for instance) and the weather is not to hot and humid yet and there are not too many tourist there at that time. So I booked my flight on Aeroflot through my locale travel agent ($1261.00 Canadian dollars (about $788.00 US dollars equivalent) for a direct flight from Toronto to Moscow. Inna at ARR did all the necessary invitations etc. required (no extra charge) so I could obtain my Russian Visa. I sent for my visa to the Russian Consulate in Ottawa and paid the 7-day processing fee ($150.00 Canadian) and received my visa in about 5 days! Guys, make sure you have the Russian Visa when you get to Moscow if you don't they will definitely turn you away I actually saw this happen to three men who were ahead of me in line when I was going through passport control upon my arrival in Moscow! So on May 3rd I boarded my flight from Toronto Pearson Airport for my first trip to Russia. Aeroflot flies Boeing 767 for this direct flight to Moscow and it was only half full. I had plenty of room to stretch out and sleep for the 9.5 hours of this flight direct to Moscow. The food was pretty good on Aeroflot and the staff on the flight spoke English and were very friendly and helpful.I landed in Moscow on time and went through passport control which took about 40 minutes (I had my Russian Visa!) and then picked my luggage. I had nothing worth declaring (only some small gifts) so I went through the Green lane, smiled at the customs agents standing there and was in the airport main hall looking out at Moscow! Inna at ARR booked my room at the Novotel Sheremetyevo-2 hotel. She even pays for it on her corporate Visa card and I reimburse the agency for this and my room fees in Sochi when I get to Sochi (takes a little bit of trust on her part, I think). I paid $165.00 US dollars for the night which includes an excellent breakfast in the morning and the room was nice as well and they speak English at the reception desk so there are no problems. But I am getting ahead of myself. While still in the airport I first had to find the Novotel Hotel representative so I could get the shuttle bus to the hotel. I found there location in the airport with no difficulty (it is the second booth next to the main exit from the airport) and the agent took my out to show me where to stand to wait for the shuttle. I caught the shuttle in about 5 minutes and was check in and in my hotel room all within about 1 hour of landing in Moscow! It was about 5:00 PM so I washed up and went down for supper in the hotel. The food was good but perhaps a little expensive (but most hotel food is). I went back to my room and review my instructions for my flight to Sochi the next day and left myself a wake up call for 4:30 AM as my Aeroflot flight leaves Sheremetyevo-1 the next morning at 8:10 am the next morning and you need to be at the airport by 7:00 AM to check in and go through Passport Control etc. again. So I went to bed about 10:00 PM and actually slept rather well and was up at 4:00 AM got ready for the BIG DAY! I will continue my story in the next post… TTFN.Rob

I can tell you all from first hand experience that the services offered by Inna and Alan McNiell are of the highest quality. Thier honesty, care and attention to detail made my trek to Sochi not only painless and enjoyable, but also a successful one as well. I am now in the process of bringing back to the U.S.A the woman of my dreams and I owe it all to ARR and the wonderful staff in Sochi. posted June 09, 2002 12:18 AM Pretty much everything has been said regarding A Russian Romance Agency in Sochi. I do not know what I can add to it all except I was there for 3 weeks in late April and early May of this year. I met about 5 other guys there that are members of ARR and got to know the staff there very well. These are the hardest working, most honest people I have met in Russia. I have spent a month in Ukraine and Russia last October. This is not a perfect business to be enguaged in. Human relationships are unpredictable and difficult. But ARR and the staff in Sochi work very hard to get to know all the girls they represent. Inna tries very hard to learn about the men members so she can recomend the right girls for you to meet. Everyone is honest with you up front. They do not guarentee you success. But they will relentlessly try to help you achieve your goals. They also care for their men clients and make sure all is going well for you in your trip there. Yes, I am a new poster. I have had no need and no time for message boards. I'm not knocking a good thing here, because it is a very good venue for communication. I am traveling back to Sochi in mid July and Inna is once again helping me with everything. She mentioned this whole affair to me and I wanted to tell everyone my experiance. Yes, it is expensive. As in most cases, it is the case here that "you get what you pay for". They tell you all the charges up front. There are no surprises. Read her whole website. It is all there in black and white and it is all true. I am pictured in her website about 6 times. I did have a great time on my last trip there. I am going back to see the girl I am pictured with. We are both slow and causcious people. We both wanted to take things slow and get to know each other, but we a very committed to each other. Most of the men reading this post are probably the same. There was no pressure for me to do anything that I did not want to do. I told the staff what I wanted and they went to work for me. It was great. If anyone wants to talk to me in person, feel free to contact Inna and she will tell you how to get a hold of me. And better yet, spend a few bucks and go there and see for yourself. Even if you are not successful in the love department, Sochi is the best place I have found in the FSU. It's a great vacation! Mark
posted June 09, 2002 12:27 AM Hello All, I've been following this thread a little and here are my notes: 1) My member number is high, because I only joined a month or so ago to find out information on engagement rings. I was looking for guidance on custom's duty etc. and found many helpful posts. 2) The reason I needed this information is because A Russian Romance is an existing agency ( Very Good, and I am not indifferent about that ).3) You can find pictures from my first trip on ARR's website http://www.arussianromance.com/act.htm ( I'm the one kissing the woman of my dreams ) 4) With Inna and Alan's help, I will be returning to Sochi in two weeks to spend another ten days with my love before she arrives in the US.Seriously though, I must stand up for Inna and Alan's agency, A Russian Romance. When I was first considering looking overseas for my wife, I contacted many different agencies. Quite a few seemed very reputable, and provided decent services to their customers. What drew me to ARR was a visit to their home. After meeting their family and seeing the look in Inna's eyes while she described her women members, I could tell that she cared greatly for all parties involved. Upon seeing the life that Inna and Alan created for themselves, I was convinced that I wanted the same for me. Two months later, I found myself in Sochi. Before going further, let me state that my Delta gold medallion member status has been in full effect long before 12,000 mile round trips to Russia. I do spend much of my time traveling, much of it outside the US. Considering all of my travels, I believe it is a great testament to say that my trip to Sochi was one of the most well planned and relaxing trips of my life. Once in Sochi, all of their office staff treated me as if I were the most important person in all of Russia. Just as they said, I was greeted at the airport by one of their talented translators Irina, and Inna's sister "Momma Julia" ( I would better understand that nickname later ). After that, I was systematically introduced to the women I had corresponded with. On my third day there, Momma Julia said that there was going to be an excursion that day into the Red Valley ski resort. She wanted to know if I would like to go, and if I would consider making the journey with someone I had not corresponded with. At first I was hesitant, it was awkward enough meeting someone that I had written to, much less a complete stranger. But, trusting her judgment, I agreed to take the trip with this new girl.That was the turning point of my life! Our chemistry was incredible, and our plans and goals for the future were nearly identical. To make a long story short, after many walks in the beautiful parks, boat rides, ski lifts, teahouses, etc. I fell hard for this wonderful Russian girl. The most important part of this story for people just starting, is that this was possible thanks to Julia and Inna's (ARR's psychologist) evaluation of me, and who they thought would be a good fit for my personality. If I had only met the girls I was corresponding with, I would have left Russia with nothing more than good memories of a pleasurable, but non-productive trip. I can't say enough good things about everyone at ARR and the way they treated me, as well as the five other men who were there. Like FreeFall, I am a very satisfied member and can't wait for these next two weeks to end so I can be in Sochi again. Plus, I am looking forward to meeting everyone at the agency once more, because they now feel like family.
